Namal Jayathilake

Namal Jayathilake, a passionate individual who has an undying interest for wild life and nature, started his photography journey capturing the nature at its best. Being a nature lover and a wildlife enthusiast he frequently travels to many national parks and wildlife sanctuaries which present opportunities for wildlife photography. In early days Namal used point and shoot cameras and occasionally Nikon D90 and Nikon D3100 borrowed from his friends. After receiving a wonderful gift from his wife Maheshika, Namal started using Canon 7D. He uses Canon 100-400mm as the primary lens for wildlife photography and 18-135mm occasionally. With the knowledge acquired as a student of Photographic Society of Sri Lanka (PSSL) and subsequently a member, Namal further improved his wildlife photography skills and also started working on other disciplines such as portraits, sports, landscapes and cultural and historic places.

Namal is an Electronic and Telecommunication engineer graduated from University of Moratuwa and a MBA holder from Postgraduate Institute of Management, University of Sri Jayewardenepura. Namal works as a manager in a leading telecommunication company in Sri Lanka.
